Troubleshooting with NODE+chroma

Variable, Inc. Customer Support -

Having trouble with your NODE+chroma system?
Try the following to get you back to sensing quickly!

Make sure you are using a reliable WiFi connection to the Internet

Your N+Chroma app needs a reliable internet connection to be able to download the latest color batch information available.  Without a strong Internet connection, your N+Chroma app may give you an error message.

Update Firmware

Make sure your device has the most recent firmware update by following the directions listed here.

Additional Troubleshooting

After attempting steps 1 and 2, please try the following if you are still having trouble:

  1. Hold the power button down for 3 seconds to turn off your NODE.
  2. Terminate the app (on the iPhone, double-click your home button and close the app).
  3. Turn off Bluetooth in Settings on your device.
  4. Power the NODE back on by holding the power button down for 3 seconds. Make sure your NODE is well charged (charge the device for at least 30 minutes to up to 3 hours total for maximum charge).
  5. Turn Bluetooth back on.
  6. Relaunch the N+chroma app.
  7. While in the N+Chroma app, touch the "Connected NODE" button.
  8. Click "Unpair", then refresh, and repair your respective NODE.
  9. Your NODE will re-calibrate automatically, and your Chroma app should function normally.

Followed instructions through bullet point #6.
When I relaunched the N+chroma app, there was no "Connected NODE" button to touch!

Thank you for reaching out to us, Jim!
You can find which NODE+ your Chroma app is paired to by tapping the "Settings" menu, found within the "Options" icon (three grey bars at the top left of your screen).
    We hope this helps!

    Hi
I have a slightly different problem with the Chroma. It's more about the way the latest software works. It has to go online before it can initialize. I'm currently visiting suppliers in China and wanted to use the Chroma to match plastic part colours and most of the time I don't have an internet connection, therefore I can't use the Chroma. Is there a way of circumnavigating the internet connection that it makes everytime I use Chroma?

    Regards
    Simon

    Hi VariableInc,

I've got the same query as Simon. My use case is remote areas, where there is no available Internet connection. Is there a way to use the Chroma without an Internet connection? There used to be until the latest version.
    Cheers,
    Alex
